Monarch Group Failure

We are very sorry to hear of the failure of Monarch Group.

*** UPDATE: 17th OCTOBER 2017 ***

We have now received the ATOL Claim Form from the CAA for all customers whose tour operator was MONARCH HOLIDAYS or MONARCH HOL WEB M. These have been posted today (17th October 2017) by First Class post to every customer who had one of the above bookings with us.

The form also has a full cover letter detailing all of the required information to successfully make your claim. As your Travel Agent, we will be collating these forms and sending to the CAA on your behalf. Please do not send the form to the CAA yourself as it may result in the claim being rejected and a further delay to your claim.

If your Tour Operator is listed as MIDCOUNTIES COOP – this is a booking we’ve packaged together separately for you. We have now contacted all affected customers and we have re-protected your holidays or provided you with the options available. The following companies have ceased trading: Monarch Airlines Ltd, Monarch Holidays Ltd, First Aviation Ltd, Avro Ltd, MH Aviation Transport Ltd, Avro Aviation Ltd and somewhere2stay Ltd. All holidays and flights provided by these companies are cancelled and will no longer be operating.

As all of Monarch’s flights due to depart from the UK have now been cancelled, customers should not go to their UK airport.  The CAA has a dedicated website monarch.caa.co.uk, which is the best source of advice and information for affected customers, and a 24 hour helpline (0300 303 2800 from in the UK and Ireland, and +44 1753 330330 from overseas) to provide additional assistance.

Please be assured that our dedicated colleagues are working hard to help any World Travel Lounge customers who have bookings with Monarch Airlines and Monarch Holidays. As ever, our colleagues remain dedicated to providing the highest levels of customer service and will do their utmost to ensure minimal disruption to your travel plans. As an ABTA and ATOL bonded travel agent, customers can rest assured that they their flight/holiday is protected and that their money is safe.

Customers in resort and due to return imminently:

We are informed that the Civil Aviation Authority is making arrangements so that you can continue your holiday and fly home as planned without any disruption.

Customers currently overseas should check monarch.caa.co.uk for confirmation of their new flight details which will be available a minimum of 48 hours in advance of their original departure time.  This website will be frequently updated with the latest information. Customers currently overseas shouldn’t go to the airport unless their flight back to the UK has been confirmed on monarch.caa.co.uk

Customers due to travel

We’ve now contacted all of our customers with future bookings to make initial contact and discuss the next steps.

You can find out who your operator is by looking at your holiday confirmation.

If your Tour Operator is listed as MIDCOUNTIES CO-OP then we are acting as your Tour Operator as well as your Travel Agent and we’ll do our very best to arrange new flights for you to ensure that your holiday carries on as normal.

If your Tour Operator is listed as MONARCHMONARCH HOLIDAYS or MONARCH HOL WEB M either on your booking confirmation or your ATOL Certificate then you were booked on to a Monarch Holidays package holiday. This means that your holiday has, unfortunately, been cancelled and you’ll need to raise a claim with the CAA for monies paid. We can help you with this and we’ll be in touch with customers as soon as the CAA release details on how to claim your monies back.

Customers wanting to re-book a new holiday

If you’re looking to re-book a new holiday then we have secured some great discounts with a number of Tour Operators exclusively for customers that were previously booked on a Monarch Holiday.

Customers awaiting refunds and claims to the CAA

We are currently still awaiting further instruction from the CAA on how the claims process will work as well as for the claims forms to be issued.

Where we are holding ‘pipeline monies’ to Monarch Holidays (where you have paid us more than we have paid Monarch) – we are currently instructed by the CAA not to release this money back to you. We are liaising with both the CAA and the Co-operative Travel Head Office to gain the most up to date information and we will be in contact with all affected customers as soon as we have further information.
